Reactive Dog Class
for dogs who lack social skills
The Reactive Dogs class is a behavior modification class designed for the dog who consistently over-reacts to the presence of other dogs and/or people in public exhibiting the following behaviors:

The class is aimed at re-establishing leadership for the handler using operant conditioning and humane techniques (not brute force or physical punishment).
We will be working on calm, effective handler control.
- loud barking
- lunging
- disruptive behavior

- growling
- snapping
- biting, but not because of fear.

In order to be as successful as possible, the class runs six weeks, but the first two weeks, are as follows:
Week 1: Orientation
Week 2: Individual Consultation
Week 3: Individual Consultation continued
Week 4: Class with up to 4 other dogs
Week 5: Class with up to 4 other dogs
Week 6: Class with up to 4 other dogs
Week 7: Class with up to 4 other dogs
Pre-Registration with pre-payment required. Classes may be full up to two months ahead of start. Registration with payment holds your place. We will go ahead and start Weeks 1, 2, 3, because they are individual, dog/handler only classes.
PLEASE NOTE: IF YOUR DOG DISPLAYS THESE BEHAVIORS AT HOME OR AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD, PLEASE SIGN UP FOR AN IN-HOME BEHAVIORAL CONSULTATION, TO BE SURE THE HOME ENVIRONMENT IS SET UP FOR THE DOG TO SUCCEED. An in home consultation is not required prior to attending this class, but if your dog is displaying these behaviors at home or around the neighborhood, an in home consultation is recommended to help ensure the home environment is set up for your dog to succeed.
