Dog Recall Camp, Doggie Come Here!Teach a Reliable Recall for Dogs Suffering from Selective Deafness, and Dogs That Were Just Never Taught to Come When Called. |

COST : $500 per camp Okay, Bowser comes to you in the house right on a dime anytime you call, but the second you are outside and off-leash, Bowser becomes deaf as a post. A reliable recall is one of the most important behaviors your dog must respond to. Without it, life could be extremely short. This three day camp will teach your dog to come when called, and we will be working with different levels of distractions. You will create focus in your dog while learning how to get-and keep-your dog's attention. There will be classroom demonstrations and discussion of training techniques with the utilization of a good training plan. Actual training will be conducted in a safe, enclosed area on campus. We will also progress to working off-leash during this camp session. Those who progress to maximum level off-leash in the training enclosed area will also work on long-line in more open areas. If the entire class can maximize their level of competence with the recall in both areas, we will take a hike on Sunday morning. The equivalent of our Level I behavior evaluation would be a plus for you and your dog, however during this three day camp, you should be able to progress to that level of accomplishment with your dog. This class will be limited to 10 friendly dogs. Participants will need to acquire the following handling tools prior to class, or let us know so we can have them available for you to purchase upon arrival:
Again, if for any reason you need to acquire the above supplies when you arrive, please let us know when you register. Training will happen, regardless of the weather, so plan for all weather gear when you pack for this camp. We will practice and work with the group of dog/handler teams first in a large security fenced area, later moving to more open areas. We will also, on the last day trek, through open fields and forest as your dog learns to play the come game from all distances. This three-day program, taught by Kat Rollins, Certified Trainer and Consultant, will help you not only learn to manage your dog better in public, but you will also develop a relationship with others in the class for a lasting support group you can continue to network with following the Camp. There will be a Maximum of 10 dogs per camp. No aggressive dogs will be allowed at this camp. If you arrive with an aggressive dog, you will be allowed to participate in the camp, but the dog will be kenneled in our boarding kennel during all hands on training exercises, or you will be asked to leave and no refund will be given. Kat's K9 Cadets Dog & Puppy Training is located 12 miles south of I-81 at exit 36.
